Denise Edwards
DENISE EDWARDS – holds degrees in piano performance from Michigan State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, she studied piano for eight months in Buriton, England, with Denise Lassimonne, student of the renowned English pedagogue Tobias Matthay. Ms. Edwards has done postgraduate work in piano pedagogy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Western Illinois University. She has been on the faculties of WIU and UIUC and has taught at seven UIUC summer piano camps.

Ms. Edwards is a co-author of Keyboard Fundamentals and is a contributing author of Creative Piano Teaching. She has been published in Clavier magazine.

Ms. Edwards is an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. At LLCC, she has taught courses in group piano, private-applied piano, and music fundamentals. She has collaborated on recitals of four-hand piano music and has performed throughout Illinois. She has also been an adjudicator for the Illinois State Music Teachers Association and the Illinois Federation of Music Clubs.

In addition to being an adjunct faculty member at LLCC, Ms. Edwards maintains a private studio in Springfield. Her students have won several music camp scholarship auditions, and also state and local awards for composition.

Ms. Edwards is a member of, and has held offices in, the Illinois State Music Teachers Association and the Illinois Federation of Music Clubs, District Four. She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music.
