NEW EDITION The new 10th edition of Keyboard Musicianship, Book Two will be released in March, 2015 and showcased at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) convention in Las Vegas. This second-year text meets the needs of college instrumental and vocal music majors who need to satisfy basic keyboard requirements. The text is widely used in college piano labs where students learn in a group environment. Each chapter contains materials addressing the following: chord study, sight reading and score reading with suggested transpositions, harmonizing folk and popular melodies, accompanying, realizing traditional and jazz chord symbols, and sections which focus on accompanying, American song repertoire, ensemble repertoire, and solo repertoire. Also included are musicianship and technical studies. Keyboard Musicianship, Book Two covers two semesters of study.
The 10th edition of Keyboard Musicianship, Book Two includes new selected solo and ensemble repertoire as well as arrangements of American popular songs by composers such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and others. The sight reading and harmonizations sections include many new studies. Students and teachers will appreciate the carefully sequenced materials in all sections with differing ability levels of students kept in mind. The primary goal of Book Two is to develop a well- rounded keyboard musician.
